چکیده

There are undisclosed splices between lanes 2 and 3 for each panel in Fig 4A. Because no acute opioid effect on Akt phosphorylation was observed in naïve cells, the authors spliced out the Naloxone control band in order to save space. The authors have provided a corrected version of Fig 4, in which all splices are clearly demarcated with a vertical black line. The raw blots for each panel in Fig 4A are provided below as supporting information.

Chronic Morphine Treatment Attenuates Cell Growth of Human BT474 Breast Cancer Cells by Rearrangement of the ErbB Signalling Network

BACKGROUND There is increasing evidence that opioid analgesics may interfere with tumour growth. It is currently thought that these effects are mediated by transactivation of receptor tyrosine kinase (RTK)-controlled ERK1/2 and Akt signalling. The growth of many breast cancer cells is dependent on hyperactive ErbB receptor networks and one of the most successful approaches in antineoplastic the...

Modular anti-EGFR and anti-Her2 targeting of SK-BR-3 and BT474 breast cancer cell lines in the presence of ErbB receptor-specific growth factors.

Over the last decade, a number of monoclonal antibodies and small molecule inhibitors emerged as potent therapeutic agents in the treatment of Her2/neu overexpressing breast cancer. Numerous patients, however, do not adequately respond to anti-epidermal growth factor receptor (EGFR)/Her2 receptor targeting. Receptor- and, in turn, growth-stimulating effects, which potentially hamper antiprolife...

PRODUCTIO N OF PROSTATE-SPECIFIC ANTIGEN (PSA) BY A BREAST CANCER CELL LINE, SK-Br-3

PSA is a 33-KDa serine protease that is produced predominantly by prostate epithelium. However, it has been shown that about 30-40% of female breast tumors produce PSA and its production is associated with the presence of estrogen and progesterone receptors. We have now developed a new tissue culture system to study PSA production in breast cancer and its association with prognostic factors...

The Cytotoxicity and Pro-Apoptotic Effect of Ligustilide (Z-Ligustilide) on MCF-7 Breast Cancer Cells and HDF1BOM Human Fibroblast Cells by Using MTT and Annexin Tests

Background and Aim: Breast cancer is one of the most common types of cancer and the second leading cause of cancer death in women. The effect of ligustilide - isolated from the Kelussia on MCF-7 breast cancer cell line compared with human fibroblast cell line (HDF1BOM) was evaluated in the present study. Materials and Methods: MCF-7 and HDF1BOM cell lines were treated for 48 and 72 hours with ...

Bone morphogenic protein receptor type 1a (BMPR1A) and Caveolin-1 associated with trastuzumab resistance of breast cancer cells

Trastuzumab is a specific monoclonal antibody used for therapeutic of the human epidermal growth factor receptor 2 (HER-2) -positive metastatic breast cancer. But, resistance to trastuzumab is a major obstacle in clinical efficiency.  During the past years, several studies have been done to find the mechanisms contributing to trastuzumab resistance. Previous studies have highlighted that bone m...
